Green/grey socks tall and small

I haven't been on my blog for a while, but today I would like to show you two pairs of socks.

They are both made out of Regia wool:

The big ones are for Phil and the small ones I made out of the rests. I never know what to do with my wool rests so I actually have quite a bunch of little sock pairs. I guess I am going to donate them when I have a nice number of pairs (like 20 pairs or so).

The pair for Phil is knit after this pattern klick. That has become Phil's standard pattern, I think for nearly every pair I make for him I use this pattern.

Wild Berry Socks

I just finished this pair of socks. The pattern is from a really old book that belonged to my grandmother and the yarn is from Opal.

Yummy - bread and jelly

Today, I tried a new bread recipe, since I wanted to use my homemade sourdough for the first time. The bread consists of sourdough (made from rye flour), rye flour and spelt flour as well as a little salt and some bread seasoning (consisting of coriander, caraway and fennel).

I am very pleased with the result, the crust is nice and crispy and the inside of the bread is really fluffy.

This weekend, we stayed with my parents who have a huge garden. They had about 12 pounds of sour cherries waiting for us in the freezer. I used four pounds right there to make some jelly (with cherry brandy and chocolate chips - it tastes exactly like a Black Forest Cake)

And since I thought that the bread and the jelly would go great together, this is what I ate:

Mhhm yummy!
